She Hulk

I fully admit, I’m slightly obsessed

Alright, full disclosure. This isn’t the most serious of reviews, but a review it is nonetheless… Because “She Hulk” rocks!

Yeah, it’s a half hour comedy thing for the most part, so there’s really not much there to be taken seriously, but it has been a fun thirty minutes each time I’ve tuned in thus far.

Seeing the likes of:

  • Tatiana Maslany
  • Mark Ruffalo
  • Mark Linn-Baker
  • Nick Gomez

Back on-screen have just made the show a lot of fun. “Breaking the 4th Wall” from time to time is fun, if only to “let us in” to the action/drama, or simply to further humanize the characters, adds a lot in the simple enjoyment of it all.

Have I said it’s fun yet? It’s not your typical super-hero fare by any means, it’s more about relationships, perceptions, insecurities, social norms, etc. To rephrase, She Hulk is more about the human side of things more than it is the “Hulk” side. David Banner was always conflicted, the MCU currently has Bruce Banner pretty much in control of things and adapted to being a/the Hulk. Poor Jennifer Walters is still a little bit in limbo it seems like, and that makes her a more relatable character than previous Hulks.
