House of the Dragon Recap and Review: S1E1-5

Aww, look at them, they’re besties…

Is it a little cheap of me to combine five reviews into one? Yeah probably a little, but to hell with it, I’m still putting in the damned work. Watching TV while taking notes isn’t for the faint of heart! Besides, it’s not my fault that the showrunners decided to rely on years worth of time jumps to tell a story.

I’m just being proactive. To be honest I was having too much fun watching to take notes. House of the Dragon is quality, first and foremost. It’s not quite the “OG” yet, but where the original series never failed to deliver on the shocking moments with near-perfect timing, House of the Dragon consistently delivers in building tension through subtlety, and camaraderie.

We know how it ends… How did it all begin?
